Mike Peng

 

Mike is the Chief Creative Officer at Moon Creative Lab, a design-led venture studio that powers the creation of new businesses for Mitsui & Co. He oversees all design aspects of the organization and its work. Specifically, he ensures that the new ventures created within Moon are elevated by human-centered design and creativity.

Prior to joining Moon, Mike was a Partner at IDEO where he co-founded and ran its Tokyo office since its inception in 2011. He also co-founded D4V (Design for Ventures), Japan’s first-of-its-kind venture capital firm that invests in early-stage Japanese ventures and co-creates human-centered products and services to deliver positive impact to the world. Mike continues to sit on the board for IDEO.org, a non-profit design studio committed to creating a more just and inclusive world.

Mike graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in Neuroscience. He has taught at Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design (CIID), NYU, The University of Tokyo, Keio University, and also has a course on IDEO U. In addition to being a competitive tennis player, Mike is also an avid hip hop dancer who finds solace in British baking shows!

Pete Peterson

 

Pete Peterson is a Product Experience Design professional that has managed cross-functional Orgs in UX, User Research, Content strategy, and localization at companies such as eBay, Autodesk, Blackrock, Allstate, and Blueshield.

 

Currently serving as Vice President of Product Experience Design at Mastercard, Pete and his teams ensure the best possible experience for B2B customers as they conduct business a global scale.

 

After receiving his undergraduate degree from UC Berkeley in Fine Art, (’91) Pete earned his Masters degree in Package Design from Academy of Art.

Jessica Ko

 

Jessica Ko is a co-founder and CEO of Playbook.com, a $20 million visual cloud storage startup in San Francisco. As part of Google’s early design team in 2007, she was responsible for working on Google Drive, Hangout, and YouTube products and interviewing, reviewing, and hiring hundreds of designers. A former Googler, she was the first and Head Designer at Opendoor, overseeing a multi-billion dollar company’s product and brand design. In addition, she has advised and contributed to the raising of hundreds of millions of dollars for more than a dozen startups nationwide.

In her role as a hiring design manager, she has seen a variety of portfolios, from abysmal to extraordinary. She authored Dribbble’s top-sponsored post of all time, and she continues to advise designers on building a solid portfolio. She holds a Bachelor of Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo and a Master of Software Management from Carnegie Mellon University.

Anji Ren

 

Anji is a UX designer, coder, and leader with 6 years of experience. She currently heads design and user research at Playbook; before that, she was a UX engineer and manager at Google for 4 years and Plaid for 1 year. She graduated with a master’s in HCI from Stanford and a bachelor’s in CS from MIT.



Pranavi Javangula

 

Hi everyone! I’m a recent grad (c/o 2021), and I studied CogSci with a minor in Data Science. I’m an incoming Associate Product Designer at Quizlet. This past summer, I interned as a Product Design Systems Intern at Robinhood and was a 2021 KP Design Fellow. Last summer, I was a Product Design Intern at Quizlet, where I’ll be returning!
